The long-awaited rebuilding of the Windsports Centre at North Beach has begun. The building on the beach next to the Coastguard Station had fallen into disuse. Fylde Council has now taken back control of the site, which is undergoing extensive renovations to become a new cafe, windsports centre and beach ranger base.
The site will include a cafe for both windsports users and the general public, along with facilities for windsports including changing areas, storage and training.
Work commenced earlier this week, and the contractors have already removed all the decking from the front of the site. The planning notice also mentions improved access paths and ramps.
